ABOUT JOSILYN THOMPSON (see the videos below)

Josilyn Thompson's Mary Kay journey began far before she ever signed her Mary Kay Beauty Agreement. Her mother, Jodi Carlson is not only her recuiter but her Sales Director and future National Sales Director! Needless to say, Josilyn's life has always been a little bit "pink". Not only has she only ever used Mary Kay products but she was raised in a pink house with a new Pink Cadillac in the driveway every two years. But somehow, Josilyn never thought she'd do Mary Kay. It was always her mom's thing, she recalls. "My mother is just so fantasic at it that i never thought i had what it took." But as any MK mother, friend, Director, and recruiter would do, Jodi grabbed Josilyn by the hand and began to prove to Josilyn that she had EXACTLY what it toook.

 

In March of 2012, Josilyn bought her Mary Kay Starter Kit while living in Lexington, KY and working full-time. At that point in Josilyn's life, she was back from her travelling adventures and found herself working 8-5, single, and dreaming about a far bigger life than the one she was living. "I knew i wanted more. I knew there was more but i was so stinkin' scared, i'd fail that i gave my mom my Starter Kit back and told her i didn't want to do it." Well, a few short months later, Josilyn found herself unemployed and back in her hometown of South Haven, Michigan with no strings attached. "In that season, i had nothing tying me down. The world was my canvas and i was ready to paint it pink."

 

In August 2012, Josilyn began working her Mary Kay business and was focused on earning her team a free set of wheels. By the end of October 2012, Josilyn and her team went on target for their first free car and submitted for DIQ on December 1st that same year. Then, by the end of January 2013, Josilyn's team earned a free Chevy Cruz and finished DIQ in March; earning themselves a "unit" title and a spot in the top 2% in Mary Kay.

 

The reasons why Josilyn signed her Mary Kay Beauty Agreement back in 2012 were as followes; "I wanted three things. I wanted family time because i had been gone forever and really wanted to spend more time with my nieces and nephews. Secondly, i wanted flexibility because i've always been over worked and under paid. And lastly, i wanted to go back and see my 'babies' in Haiti. I knew that if God put those three things on my heart, i needed to work towards them one skincare class at a time." Although, those are the reasons Josilyn signed her Beauty Agreement, she says what now keeps her going is watching other women's lives change by gaining conifence, making more money, having the flexibiltiy to design their own lifestyles, be at home with their children, earn free cars, and make more money working for themselves than for someone else.

 

Currently, Josilyn resides in Erie Beach, Canada and works her business in the United States and in Canada. Talk about "no terretories"! She is so thankful that Mary Kay has allowed her the flexibility to work wherever (a rooftop in Haiti, Michigan, Canada, on a cruise in the middle of the ocean, etc) and still make an executive income. Josilyn loves the philosophy of this company: faith first, family second, and career third. Josilyn's goal is to help as many women design their own lifestyles, get back into the home with their babies, and make an executive income for themselves!
